Subtel receives three proposals for LTE, Entel comes out on top

Chilean telecoms regulator the Sub-Secretaria de Telecomunicaciones (Subtel) has received proposals from Movistar, Claro and Entel, applying for the three 2.6GHz Long Term Evolution (LTE) concessions on offer. Subtel awarded scores to each of the proposals, based on quality standards for services, coverage within homes and buildings, infrastructure sharing that favours the entry of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and network usage by third parties. The allocation of points rewarded shorter deployment times and favoured deployment in the regions that ensures internet service in the 560 rural communities that currently have no connectivity
