Globe Telecom has entered into an agreement with Vonage Holdings, a leading provider of international voice-over-internet protocol (VoIP) phone services for home and small business users, to deliver low-cost international calls to and from the Philippines. With a three million-strong Filipino diaspora currently residing in the US, both firms are looking to capitalise on the potential growth opportunities to be had from VoIP call services. In a separate development, Globe says it has selected Sybase 365, a subsidiary of mobile messaging and mobile commerce services developer Sybase Inc, to expand its global IPX connectivity via a suite of trans-operator interconnect services, including voice and data roaming
